Washington Brief:  LCA Attends Conference Sponsored by Association of Community Cancer Centers (ACCC)

LCA joined hundreds of other cancer related organizations  at an all day  conference in Baltimore, MD on Friday, March 30, entitled Navigating Rough Waters: How to Chart Your Course. Maureen Rigney, LCA's Director of Patient Services, said the annual event,  sponsored by Association of Community Cancer Centers, brings together representatives of oncologists, surgeons, nurses, social workers as well as medical directors and administrators to help make cancer care more coherent and less complicated for patients. Rigney said the hottest topics were clinical trial participation, understanding critical financial resources for patients and drug safety issues. LCA also exhibited materials at the conference in its continuing effort to educate professionals and the general public about lung cancer, and to make them aware of LCA’s services.
