Faces of Lung Cancer

In Memory of Margaret Lurie

In memory of my beloved mother, Margaret Lurie, who passed away on February 24, 2008.

A killer that lives in darkness so near the heart.

Waiting to be found by chance when it can be too late.

We need to Shine A Light on this killer.

A killer a taker of strength, of will, of hope, and worse of all a taker of family and loved ones.

Waiting in the darkness taking a part of our lives little by little until it is too late.

We need to Shine A light on this taker.

A killer that bides it’s time knowing all to well the outcome 85 percent of the time will be grim.

Waiting to strike like a Black Mamba with out warning.

We need to Shine A Light on this all too deadly snake.

A killer that hides like the Monster in the closet.

Waiting patiently in darkness, knowing the light most likely will not be turned on.

We need to Shine A Light on this Monster in the closet.

A killer who has no rhyme or reason for choosing it’s victims. A serial killer that won’t be stopped.

Waiting, taunting us knowing it has all the time to keep going.

We need to Shine A Light on this serial killer who hides in darkness and bring it in to the light.

For our Loved ones,

For our First Responders,

For our Troops and Veterans,

We need to Shine A Light on Lung Cancer now.

Reverend Craig P. Lurie
