Lung Cancer Alliance Applauds the Action of Six Senators
The Department of Justice's recent decision to reduce their request for damages in the federal government's suit again eleven tobacco companies has raised a firestorm of protests in Washington, but only about tobacco cessation funding. Six senators co-signed a letter to the Inspector General of DOJ asking for an investigation.
Lung Cancer Alliance president, Laurie Fenton sent a letter to each of those six senators--Senator Edward Kennedy (D-MA), Senator Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ), Senator Richard Durbin (D-IL), Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR), Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA) and Senator Ben Nelson (D-NE) supporting their request.
