STATEMENT BY LUNG CANCER ALLIANCE

IN REACTION TO THE PASSING OF SUZANNE PLESHETTE

January 22, 2008-- It is with deep sorrow that Lung Cancer Alliance extends its condolences to the family of Suzanne Pleshette and to the millions of fans who were devoted to this gifted performer.  Throughout her career, Ms. Pleshette brought grace and humor to the screen brightening each of our lives with her signature wit and warm smile. 

Ms. Pleshette’s passing reminds us once again how devastating lung cancer is to our national community, how ignored and stigmatized this disease remains today and how necessary increased compassion and research support is if we are to turn the tide of this public health epidemic.  Ms. Pleshette will inspire our efforts even more.
